Our first free camp and we nearly did not make it in. Due to our late start in Alice Springs we tried to pass as many caravans as we could on the way to the Devil’s Marbles (maplink). We arrived at 3:20pm to find there were only 2 places left – phew!
What a great spot. The campground has a voluntary fee of $3.60 per night. As this was the 1st time “off the grid” we turned the gas on for the fridge and it would not work – mad panic (I never really stress!!!). Lucky enough our friendly neighbour, Jack, new all about things gas and we had it up and running in no time.
If you are traveling along the Stuart Highway make sure that you stop off at this place, even if it’s just to take a break. The rock formations are astounding.
